The Best Footballers' Trio

The world has produced a number of exceptional footballers, but only a handful can ever be called great. But we will give tribute to only three. These are stars who stood out in their teams and made their own marks in the history of football.

Pele (Brazil)

A hero for every football player, professional or amateur. His remarkable debut in the Brazilian league at the young age of sixteen catapulted him to a place in Brazil's World Cup team, where he scored two goals in the final, allowing Brazil to take home the golden cup. At seventeen, he became the youngest footballer to score a goal and eventually win the Word Cup. He went on to score hundreds of goals and bag ever more cups. Pele is now an ambassador for football and continues to inspire football enthusiasts around the world.

Diego Maradona (Argentina)

The man who almost single-handedly carried Argentina to win the the World Cup in 1986 is also revered highly. He was even voted the world’s greatest footballer by the generations after Pele. His ability to handle the ball is sheer genius. It is unfortunate that his career took a nosedive after failing cocaine tests. His career never recovered after that.

Zinedine Zidane (France)

The French's pride, Zizou, made football an art. His dribbling skills and great passes is still unsurpassed, earning him the titles of the European Footballer of the Year in 1998. He was also the FIFA World Footballer of the Year in the years 1998, 2000, and 2003.
